Bernardine Ululani (Gomez) LeeBernardine Ululani (Gomez) Lee of Hilo, Hawaii returned to our Father in Heaven on October 10, 2017. She was 78 years old. Our beloved was born December 7, 1938 in Makaweli Hospital, Waimea, Kauai to Bernard Aus- tin Gomez and Pearl Hookano Gomez. She was a proud graduate of Kamehameha Schools Class of 1956 followed by 2 years at St. Francis School of Nursing before starting her beautiful family with the love of her life, Wilbert Wah Siu Lee Sr., U.S. Air Force retired. She was the best example of unconditional love to her five children: Brenda K.L. Lee of Hilo; Bridgit K.L. Rovner M.D., (Michael) of Kailua, Oahu; Wilbert W.S. Lee Jr. (Lu- ida) of Kailua, Kona; Col. Barbara Y.Y. Lee, U.S. Air Force, (Jay Humelbaugh) of Burke, Virginia; and Bradley K. Lee, M.D., (Marlys) of Kapolei, Oahu; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her only brother, George Bernard Gomez. Ulu was an active member of Hale O Na Ali'i for 34 years, perpetuating our Hawaiian culture with sisters she loved. She was also the previous owner of the Hilo Diet Center where she taught nutrition and weight control to many, but her greatest achievement has always been her family. It is with the deepest sense of loss that we say goodbye for now to our beautiful, loving, kind and supportive wife, mother and grandmother. We look forward to our reunion in heaven. Great is our gratitude for a life well lived and a legacy that lives on. Friends and family are welcome to celebrate Ulu's life at Dodo Mortuary Chapel, 199 Wainaku St., Hilo at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 26th. A prayer service will start at 11:00 a.m. with refreshments to follow.

Our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the deceased
