83 of Honolulu, HI, a retired Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard and US Coast Guard veteran went home to be with the Lord on Oct. 22, 2017. Royal will always be remembered as a loving, gentle and caring husband, dad and papa. He was born in Honolulu, HI on Nov 5, 1933. He is survived by Leilani, his loving wife of 63 years, daughters Millie Leong, Shirley Saffery (Robin), Christine Laupola (Houston), Norma Vazquez (Armando); 16 grandchildren, 14 great grand- children and 2 great great grandchildren. Visitation on Nov. 6 at Borthwick Mortuary, Maunakea Chapel at 9:30am. Services at 10:30am. Burial to follow.
