Jane Eiko (Takasaki) Sato
95, died peacefully Sunday, September 24, 2017 in Honolulu. She was born in Honolulu, Hawai'i on October 19, 1921. She was the only child of Masakazu and Shizuyo (Kurata) Takasaki. Jane was a graduate of McKinley High School, Class of 1939, where she met her future husband, Barney Sato, Class of 1938. After high school she attended the Margaret Dietz Commercial School and finishing school in Japan. In 1946, she married Barney "Shige" Sato and subsequently helped in the family business, Sato Clothiers, Ltd. for many years. She supported Barney in his career, extra-curricular sports activities, and charitable pursuits. While raising three children, Barney and Jane enjoyed traveling the world, were active in the Ala Moana Lions, and pursued the perfect golf swing. A "tomboy in her early years, Jane was a modern individual who was eager to keep up with current ideas. She was also an excellent seamstress, dressed well, and loved to follow the new fashion trends. Her greatest pride was her children and grandchildren, her dear long- time friendships, and "that" once- in-a-lifetime hole-in-one at Mid- Pacific Golf Club. She continued to have fond memories of her childhood days with the friends of Pu'unui Street and Serreno Lane. She is survived by children: Daryl (Amy) Sato, Linda (Frederic) Sato-Juras, and Myron (Sharlyn) Sato; five grandchildren; Mele, Kimi, Mari, Keola and Kari; and one great-grandchild, Mia. Private family services were held at Punchbowl on October 23. Arrangements Provided By: Hosoi Garden Mortuary
