Hiroshi Chinen
89, of Kaneohe, saw the glory of God, as Heaven opened its gates and joyously received him on October 14, 2017. Born in Lahaina, Maui, he retired as the Shipyard Facilities and Equipment Administrator for Matson Navigation Company. He touched many lives as his lifetime ministry of serving our Lord was shared throughout the world. Hiroshi's presence will be greatly missed; however, we rejoice with him, as he is in the presence of our Loving Father. Preceded by his wife, Dorothy, he is survived by his children, Cynthia (John) Bortfeld, Sandra (Glenn) Shimabukuro, Calvin (Joy) Chinen, and Paul (Doreen) Chinen; 13 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and his siblings, Fusako Chinen, Mitzi Yoshimoto, Stanley Seie (Miriam) Chinen and Nancy (Robert) Okuda. Come celebrate Hiroshi's legacy at Kalihi Union Church on Friday, November 10, 2017.
