Payne, Brother Thomas A., SM, (Marianist) born in Cleveland, Ohio on August 3, 1945. Died at the age of 72 in Cupertino, CA on November 3, 2017. Son of the late Arthur and Martha (Steimberg) Payne. First profession of vows on August 22, 1964, final profession on August 24, 1969. Brother Tom served as the chaplain for the Cincinnati, Ohio, Police Department; Beavercreek, Ohio Fire Department; and the Memphis, Tennessee Prison System. An accomplished facility manager, Brother Tom served in that capacity at Memphis Catholic High School in Tennessee, Mount Saint John, Dayton OH; The Marianist Province USA, St. Louis MO; Chaminade University, Honolulu, Hawaii, and the Region of Eastern Africa in Nairobi, Kenya. Vigil Service: Friday, November 10, 2017 at 4:30 pm at the Marianist Community in Cupertino, CA. Mass of Christian Burial, Saturday, November 11, 2017 at 10:00 am at the Marianist Community in Cupertino, CA. followed by burial at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Los Altos, CA.
