GEORGINA “GINNY” CHUN SERIKAKU
Ginny Chun Serikaku, passed away on September 28, 2017 at EvergreenHealth, Kirkland, Washington. Ginny was born on August 7, 1947 in Wailuku, Maui, to Maj. Richard S. Chun, USARet, and Frances S. Chun (both deceased). She grew up in Maui, Japan, California, and Maryland. She graduated from Glen Burnie High School (Maryland) and the University of Hawaii. Ginny worked for many years at Xerox Hawaii, retiring as the Controller. Ginny is survived by her husband, Al Serikaku, daughters, Dana (Casey) Ching and Michele Serikaku, grandchildren, Cody and Shelby Ching, and brother, Greg (Patsy) Chun. She was also sister to the late Karen Chun Staub. Ginny was cherished by her family and friends and quickly loved by all who knew her. She was well known for her love of the casinos in Las Vegas and Washington, her knowledge and passion for buying and selling diamonds, crafting of all sorts, fishing and especially talking story for hours. Her fun, loving, giving, and determined spirit will be missed, and the good times and laughter shared with her will be cherished by all. The family is so grateful for those who touched Ginny's life and for the love, generosity and support they have received on behalf of Ginny. Private celebrations were held at Central Union Church on Wednesday, October 25, 2017. It was full of family, friends, flowers and of course, fun stories and memories of Ginny. The family also wishes to thank the staff from the KMCWC Cancer Center for their loving care and special friendships formed over the years.
