LESLIE MAHARAJ
LESLIE MAHARAJLeslie was born on November 11, 1964 at the Kapiolani Medical Center. She lived most of her early years in Maryland where she spent many hours sailing and crabbing on the Chesapeake Bay. She returned to Hawaii for college, attending Chaminade University and the University of Hawaii. After graduating from the William Richardson School of Law, she served as a law clerk for the Hawaii State Judiciary. She then joined the law firm of Michael Freed & Associates where she specialized in real estate and commercial litigation, while also being a senior advisor to the Legal Aid Society of Hawaii. Her pride was representing families and children at the Hawaii Family Court in Kapolei. Leslie passed away on November 15th at Queen's Medical Center. She is survived by her husband and best friend of 32 years, Peter Aaron Maharaj, and by her mother, Carol Osterheim. She was preceded in death by her father, Alan Osterheim. She and Peter enjoyed extensive traveling. Among their favorite places were Australia, Fiji, New York and Morocco. A Celebration of Life will be held in her honor in the Ocean Garden at Paradise Cove on Sunday, December 10th, from 11:00 am - 3:00 pm.
