As much as we wanted to keep her here... He wanted her more...On November 25, 2017, Karen, prematurely passed away at the young age of 71. She was born on June 16, 1946 in Honoka'a and grew up in Kaneohe. Started her own family in the South Bay Area of California, where she lived for over 20 years. Returned home in 1989 to join her father in the insurance industry. Karen dedicated the last 28 years of her life working alongside her father through Ken Nakamura & Associates. Her genuine love for people, built life-long relationships with many. This spirit will carry on through her only daughter Karie (Ronnie) Paguio and the joy of her life, her only granddaughter, Remie, whom she was most proud of. She is also survived by mother, Tomie Nakamura; sister, Lynn Franklin and brother, Lloyd (Patti) Nakamura. A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, January 5, 2018 at Mililani Mortuary (Mauka Chapel). Visitation 5:30pm, services 6:30pm. Karen's kind heart and youthful spirit will truly be missed by all of those she touched.
