FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

CLARENCE YAYOI TAMAYORI
CLARENCE YAYOI TAMAYORI96, of Honolulu, passed away on November 30, 2017. He was born June 18, 1921 in Lahaina, Maui and graduated from Leilehua High School on Oahu. He was a retired lighthouse maintenance specialist for the U.S. Coast Guard for 25 years. Clarence was a veteran of K Company of the 442nd Regimental Combat Team, an all-Nisei Japanese unit of the U.S. Army from 1943 to 1945. Clarence took part in combat in Italy and France during World War II and was wounded in action, receiving the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star for his service. In 2016, Clarence was awarded the French Legion of Honor by the French Republic in appreciation for his service to France. He was preceded in death by siblings Benko Tamayose, Hiroshi Tamayori, Anne Taomae, Alfred Tamayori and Steven Tamayori. He is survived by siblings Lucille Tamayori, Patrick Tamayori, Elsie Ikehara, Sylvia Ehara, Thomas Tamayori, Nanci Tamayori-Billings and George Tamayori. Visitation at 2pm on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at Hosoi Garden Mortuary. Services will be held at 3pm. Aloha attire. Arrangements Provided By: Hosoi Garden Mortuary
