Ian M. Smith, 93, born in Waipahu, passed away peacefully at home with family on Dec. 12, 2017. Ian was a graduate of Punahou Class of 1941 and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute Class of 1951. Ian served in the United States Army from 1941-1947 and worked at Pearl Harbor as a Naval Architect from 1941-1984. Ian was recognized for his 50 year membership with the Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers. Ian was pre-deceased by his wives Yvonne and Margaret. Survived by son, Stuart R. Smith and daughter, Laurie E. Paleka (Dallen) 4 grandchildren & 3 great-grandchildren. Private scattering of ashes at sea at a later date. Arrangements Provided By: Hawaiian Memorial Park Mortuary
