STRATFORD LORD WHITING
Stratford Lord Whiting born in Oxnard California on Sept. 13, 1933 and raised in Honolulu, passed away on Dec 22, 2017. After graduating from Punahou School in 1951 as an ILH pole vaulting champion, he attended UCLA on an athletic scholarship. He returned to Hawaii to receive his degree in Civil Engineering from University of Hawaii. He retired from the US Federal Government in the Soil Conservation Service Department as a Licensed Civil Engineer after 33 years. He was a long time active member of the Outrigger Canoe Club and the Mensa IQ international Society. As a very competitive lifetime breeder and passionate racer of champion pigeons, he was also a member of Aloha Racing Pigeon Club and a key member of Honolulu Invitational Racing Pigeon Club. He is survived by his wife Anita, son Stratford Jr, daughter Rebecca O'Brien, four grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Private Services will be held at the Diamond Head Mortuary.
