Mildred O. Yasutake passed away on December 6, 2017. She was 90 years old. Millie began her long career in the court system as a stenographer in the city and state courts. She eventually became a secretary to U.S. District Court and 9th Circuit Court of Appeals judges before her retirement. Millie was preceded in death by beloved husband Akira, parents Zenichi and Misuyo Otake, brothers Harry, Tsutomu, Stanley, and Kenneth Otake, and sister Gladys Michiko Hironaka. She is survived by daughter Jo Ann Sakato, sister Nancy Sakamoto, and members of the extended Yasutake, Otake, Okino, Hamasaki, Sakamoto, and Hironaka families. Interment of ashes was attended by immediate family. The family requests no koden or flowers but welcomes donations in Millie's memory to Hospice Hawaii, 860 Iwilei Road, Honolulu, HI 96817, or the American Cancer Society, 2370 Nuuanu Ave, Honolulu, HI 96817.
