JAMES SHIZUTO (JIMMY/KIMO) KIMOTO
September 10, 1942 December 23, 2017 Our beloved Brother, Uncle and Friend passed away peacefully at Hale Pulama Mau at the age of 75. Jimmy was born and raised in McCully and was a proud Class of '61 McKinley Tiger. Following graduation, he enlisted in the Army and was a Vietnam Veteran. Upon his discharge, he began his career with the Department of the Navy at Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard where he retired in 1997. He then began another career with the State of Hawaii at the University of Hawaii. His retirement years were well spent golfing, trips to Las Vegas and Thailand and taking up ukulele making and playing. He is known for having a big, kind heart which led to making new friends wherever he went. Jimmy is survived by Siblings: Gloria (Thomas) Uyeno, George (Sandra) Kimoto, Karen (Eugene) Chang and Colleen (the late Robert) Urata, as well as many nieces and nephews. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2018, at Mililani Memorial Park & Mortuary, Mauka Chapel. Visitation at 10:00 am, Service at 11:00 am. Casual/Aloha attire and no flowers. Burial at Hawaii State Veterans Cemetary will be held at a later date.
