Ku`uleimokihana Cockett Aluli
Ku`uleimokihana Cockett Aluli, age 97, of Kailua, passed away on January 2, 2018 at her home, Ho`onanea. She was born in Makawao, Maui on September 10, 1920, and retired from the Kupuna Program for the State Department of Education. She was a homemaker and beloved mother and nana. She was a beautiful hula dancer, singer and musician and loved to bowl and golf. Together with her sisters-in-law raised the 24 Aluli-Hollinger-Meyer cousins in Kaimalino along the Kawainui canal. She was a member of the Daughters of Hawai`i, the Saint Anthony Parish Community Kailua, and sang with the Kaimalino Serenaders. She is survived by her children, Ronald Chong Kee, Kalai Teves, Noa Emmett Aluli, Pia Aluli, Hayden Aluli, Noa Kekahu Aluli, and Webster Kalani Aluli; 21 grandchildren; 24 great-grand- children; 11 great-great-grand- children; three hanai grandchildren and four hanai great-grandchildren; and sister Miriam Kalehua Deering. She is preceded by her parents Jonah Patrick (Pia) and Mary Kaweiokalani Kekahu Cockett; her brothers Mormon, George, Patrick, Frank, Herbert, James and Abraham Cockett; her sisters Miriam, Amy Moikeha, Phoebe Ledward, Zelie Radwin and Mary Joyce Lawrence; and her husbands Noa Tong Aluli and Nicholas Walter Teves. Her ho`olewa, Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2018, at Diamond Head Mortuary. Visitation at 8:30, Reflections at 10:00. Lei are welcome.
