FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

CHAUNCEY WIGHTMAN PA
Chauncey Wightman Pa, 82, passed away on January 3, 2018 at Wilcox Memorial Hospital. Chauncey was born on August 10, 1935 in Kilauea to Joseph and Elizabeth Pa. Chauncey grew up in Kalihiwai. He was raised by his Tutu Annie Kaonohi. Chauncey graduated from Kamehameha Schools in Honolulu, Oahu in 1953. Then he went on to attend Occidental College in Pasadena, CA and graduated in 1957. He was passionate in sports where he broke numerous state and world records in track and field. While in college he played football with Jack Kemp and Jim Mora. From there he went to the U.S. Army. After that he worked for Standard Oil on Wake Island, where he greatly enjoyed his time. He would tell us the fishing was great and that's where he met his wife Chris. They left Wake Island to return to Hawaii to start their family, Chauncey worked for numerous companies when he returned. He loved to fish, play ukulele and pulehu in the front yard. Chauncey was invited to the Smithsonian Institute in D.C. to demonstrate the art of Throw Net. He also loved his friends and his classmates. He enjoyed calling them daily or at least once a week to check on them. Chauncey is survived by his ex-wife Chris, daughter Kimberley (Chad K Pacheco) Pa, Son Chauncey (Lisa) Pa, and Chadry (Madison Strecker) Pa, grand- children Kalei Chandler-Pa, Hi'ilei Costa-Pa, Keliko, Kaiea, Arrow, and Indah Pa, sister Elizabeth Chai, and Harriette Nakea, brothers Stanton and Stanford Pa and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Chauncey was preceded in death by his Tutu Annie Kaonohi, parents Joseph and Elizabeth Pa and siblings Gaylord Kaonohi, David and Joseph Pa and Annabell Pa-Kam. Friends and family may visit with the family on Saturday, March 3rd 2018, at 11:00 A.M. at 3077 Kalihiwai Rd., the family residence, for a celebration of life.
