Robert “Tachi” Kaneshiro
79, of Honolulu passed away on February 4, 2018 at home with his wife, Faith Kaneshiro, by his side. He is survived by his son, Dr. Neil Kaneshiro and daughter, Robyn Miyo Furuta and three grandchildren, Sean Tadashi Furuta, Kailey Akiko Furuta and Alex Kazuyuki Kaneshiro. He was a "grumpy old man" that never minced words, never afraid to speak his mind, but under that THICK exterior, was a loving, caring, kind man that we knew only so well. After many years of service to JAL, he retired. In his spare time, he enjoyed being comfortable at home, playing computer games, watching TV and taking care of his grandchildren. He enjoyed the Wahine Volleyball games and was a season ticket holder for 40 years. In addition to his immediate family, he is survived by his brother, George Kaneshiro and sisters Ellen Collins, Margaret Naher, Betty Shimabukuro, Lillian Noguchi and Lois Miyake. Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at Nuuanu Memorial Park and Mortuary on March 2, 2018 with visitation at 5:00 pm followed by memorial service at 6:00 pm.
