Papali'itele Tauga'ifala Clarence Elmer PAPALI'ITELE TAUGA'IFALA CLARENCE ELMER RAGS SCANLAN 76, of Kapahulu, checked out of the game peacefully to a standing ovation on Saturday, 27 January, 2018 on O'ahu. Born in Fagatogo, Tutuila, Amerika Samoa, he moved to Kapahulu, O'ahu as a child. He attended St. Patrick's and Saint Louis schools before graduating from 'Iolani in 1959. After nearly 20 years in HPD, he retired as a detective and went on to start his own investigations and security firms. For years, he coached football and basketball at 'Iolani and maintained his enduring, fervent support for young people by seeking and providing opportunities in many forms. As an enduring community advocate, he remained socially conscious and politically active, and he leaves a deep legacy of love and service. He posts a solid career stat line: 76 years, nine siblings, three children, four grandkids, thousands of lives positively impacted, countless bad jokes and a lifetime of laughs. Celebration of Life: Sunday, March 11, 2018 at 'Iolani School (St. Alban's Chapel). Visitation: 2:00 p.m.; Service: 3:30 p.m.. Gifts can be made to the John P.
