HENRY TAKASHI IZUKA
Age 89, of Honolulu, a retired review appraiser at the Veterans Administration, passed quietly on February 24, 2018. Born in Kalaoa Camp, Papaikou, July 24, 1928, he is survived by his daughter, Judi Izuka (Ron) Campbell; sons, Scot (Christy) Izuka, PhD, and Roger Izuka; grandchildren; Brandon Izuka and Tori Campbell (Matthias) Sigmund; sisters-in-law Gayle (James) Zukeran, Jean (Ernest) Shoji, and many beloved nieces, nephews and their families. He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Denis T. (Sato) Izuka. Henry was a disabled-retired veteran of the Korean War, and was an active life member of the Korean War Veterans, Assn., Oahu Chapter - Disabled American Veterans, and the Military Order of the Purple Heart. He was a cherished wise, good-natured and hands-on father, grandfather and uncle to all, a peaceful man now in peace. Memorial services to be held at Hosoi Mortuary, Sunday, March 18, 2018. Visitation: 12:00 p.m.; Service: 1:00 p.m.; Aloha attire. Interment: 3:00 p.m. at The National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific at Punchbowl on Monday, March 19.
