91, Professor Emeritus at the University of Hawaii, Manoa, died peacefully at his home in Waialua on March 5th 2018. He was born in Cheshire, England and attended Cambridge University. He was a linguist , an expert on pidgin and creole languages and came to the University of Hawaii, Manoa to study and research "Hawaiian Pidgin". He has published several books and journal articles on the subject and also on the Origins of language and several novels. He is survived by his wife, Yvonne, his sons Jim and Ashley, daughter Julie and seven grand- children. Private services held.
