JOHN NORDLUM
JOHN NORDLUMJohn Nordlum 81, passed away at home in Nanakuli on January 31, 2018 from complications of Parkinson's Disease, with his wife Lori at his side. John taught English in Greece, the Virgin Islands, Guam and Singapore. In Hawaii he taught at Kahuku, St. Louis, Punahou and Farrington high schools. He was also an underwater research diver at Makai Pier and a diver for Maui Divers harvesting pink, black and gold coral. Jack Lord of Hawaii 5-0 saw John at Makai Pier while 5-0 was filming and asked John to be his stand-in and stunt double. After Lord retired, John was asked to be the stand-in and stunt double for Tom Selleck for Magnum P.I. He was born on May 9, 1936 in International Falls, Minnesota to Clarence Nordlum and Margaret Boley Nordlum (deceased); sister Mary Nordlum Gibson (deceased). He is survived by his wife Lori Nordlum; son Michael (Aimee) Nordlum of Red Lodge, Montana; He is also survived by his step- children: James (Billi) Watland and Robbie (Jennifer) Watland; grandchildren: Morisa Watland, Presley Watland, and Jaxon Watland. Services on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at Borthwick Mortuary, Maunakea Chapel; 10:30 a.m. visitation; 11:30 services.
