FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

Lavaina “Lovey” Katherine Kia
Lavaina Beloved Mother, Tutu, Tutu-Lady, Aunt, Friend and Matriarch passed away peacefully on February 18, 2018, in her home in Liliha. She was the third child and only daughter, of five children born to James Earsel Dilliner and Rebecca Keoahunui Holstein Dilliner on April 24, 1933. Born on Oahu, she was raised at Sunset Beach on the island of Oahu and is a graduate of Kahuku High School. She had the kindest heart, most contagious laugh, shared encouraging words and made every person feel like they were the most important person. She never placed value in material things and naturally found value in people. She loved her 'Ohana fiercely and gave them her all. She retired from Spencecliff Corporation after a thirty-two (32) year career which began as a Hostess/Waitress at Queens Surf Waikiki and Tops Waikiki. Nick-named "Lovey" because of her beautiful smile and warm personality, Spencecliff management trained her as a Bartendress and she served in that capacity at both Schooners and Cock's Roost from 1967 till her retirement in 1987. In the early 90's she was wooed out of retirement by the Livingstons and she tended the Bar at Tahitian Lanai for many years. She was preceded in death by her Husband, Abraham "Abe" Kia. She and Abe raised nine children together in a home on 22nd Avenue in Kaimuki. She is survived by her daughters Constance K. Uale Warrington (Mark), Deldrene Mowatt (Harry), Lorene Hoaeae-Kekahuna; her sons Abert "Abe" (Sharolyn), Lambert (Shirley), Blaine Kamalani (Kaleo); her Hanai sons Roy Johnson (Lynn), Guy Doria (Lupe), Les Mokulehua (Jocelyn); 24 Grandchildren and 35 Great Grandchildren.
