99 of Ma'ili, born in Watertown, Hawaii on November 12, 1918, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on February 11, 2018. A loving and faithful husband of 77 years to his surviving wife Rachel. Children; Christine (Bernard) Lasconia, Barbara Rita (deceased), George (Barbara), Melvin (Beverly), Allen, and Charlotte Akiona; siblings Richard (Gladys), Dorothy Duncan, Lucy Rado, and Theresa Jenkins. He was adored by his many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. He worked on the sugar cane plantation then was hired as a pipe fitter at Kaneohe Marine Base. Later he moved on to Barbers Point Naval Air Station where he retired at 55. He was a self-taught master mechanic, whose passion was working on cars, especially VW's. ~ A man of integrity and a true gentleman to all ~ Visitation: 9:00 a.m.; Service: 10:15 a.m. on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at Hawaiian Memorial Park Cemetery. Burial to follow.
