Izetta “Iz” Kahaunani Iwata
79, of Honolulu, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on February 26, 2018. She was born on August 7, 1938 in Honolulu and worked for Hawaiian Airlines as a secretary in Quality Control. Known as "Iz", she retired in 1995 with 30 years of service. Iz enjoyed going to Las Vegas, playing poker and watching Korean Dramas. Her passion was her family, especially her grandchildren, as they were the light of her life and she always made sure to attend all their mile-stone events. She is survived by her husband Richard Iwata, daughters Noreen (Paul) LeSage, Dale (Gregg) Aipa, Tracey (Lane) Hirano, Joey (Robert) Mielke and son Ryan (Jane) Iwata. She was a loving grandmother to her 12 grandchildren, AJ and Nick LeSage, Ashlyn, Alyssa and Aimee Aipa, Ridge and Lauren Hirano, Nainoa and Kali'a Mielke, and Ryder, Nalu and Rayne Iwata. She is also survived by her sister Odetta Fujimori and brother Wayne Kealalio. Visitation will be held at Diamond Head Mortuary Chapel on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at 5:00 p.m. followed by a memorial service at 6:00 p.m. Inurnment will be private. No flowers. Casual attire.
