CLARK "ED" EDWARDS 96, died at home on July 28, 2017. Clark was born on October 4, 1920, in St. Paul, Minnesota, to Clark and Martha Edwards. A veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict, his military career spanned 20 years, retiring in 1962 as a Lt. Colonel. For the next thirty-six years, he continued his service to the country as a Management Analyst for the Department of the Army. Starting his civilian career with the Corps of Engineers in Minnesota, he transferred to the U.S. Army Engineer Office, Pacific Ocean Division (POD), at Fort Shafter in 1967. His work led to various assignments in Japan and Korea. In 1996, he returned to the Hawaii POD office and continued working there until his retirement in 1998. He then embarked on the career that gave him the greatest satisfaction. As a volunteer for the VITA program at the MCBH Tax Center, he respectfully and affectionately became known as "Mr. Ed". For almost twenty years more, he devoted his time and energy to tax preparation for the military community. He is preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen and his daughter, Merry. He is survived by daughters, Linda, Patricia, Marcia and Tina; son, Clark III; ten grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Interment will take place on April 20, 2018 at 1:00 pm at The National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific at Punchbowl.
