Mitsue Aka, 97, passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 22, 2018. She was born on the Big Island on January 9, 1921. Mitsue grew up on the Hakalau Sugar Plantation and moved to Honolulu, where she later joined Mort and Janice Feldman in founding Tori Richard Ltd. in 1956 (the company began with 3 employees and a sewing machine). After her retirement, Mitsue was an active early morning walker in Manoa Valley, was involved in Okinawan dance and became an avid golfer with her husband David. Mitsue married David on September 30, 1945 and is survived by her children, Gary, Raymond, Steve and Lorraine (Ron) and 4 grandsons. Services will be held at Hosoi Garden Mortuary at 4pm on Saturday, April 21, 2018. Visitation is at 3:00 p.m. Mitsue will be buried at Oahu Cemetery, together with her husband David, who passed away in 2015. Arrangements Provided By: Hosoi Garden Mortuary
