Odetta Doublet
Odetta "Simmie" "Anne" Doublet, 80, of Honolulu, Hawaii, died on April 5, 2018, in Honolulu. She was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, on June 20,1937, to Violet "Popo"and Wah Hong Young. Preceded in death by her sister, Winifred Young and brother Harris Young. She is survived by sisters Adrienne Gregory and Harriet Torres; daughter Yvette Doublet-Weislak (Dale); grandchildren, Jolie Sky, Logan, and Anya; great grandson, Grayson; son, Charles Doublet; 101-year old uncle, Richard Lau, and hanai daughters Lisa Montoya and Jacinta "Utu" McDermott. A graduate of St. Francis High School, 1956, and Honolulu Business College, 1958. A keypunch operator, she worked for Water and Power in Los Angeles from 1960 to 1970. She returned home to Hawaii and worked for PRI for 23 years, from 1971 to 1993, when she retired. She loved spending time with her grand- children, attending weekly mass at Sts. Peter and Paul, watching sports, and eating out with her family and friends. For the last year, she enjoyed living at Kalakaua Gardens. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2018, at Sts. Peter and Paul Church in Honolulu. Visitation: 8:30am. Mass: 9:30a.m. Family request no flowers please.
