FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

David H.K. Young
82, passed away on April 17, 2018 in Honolulu. David was born in Kunia, Oahu and graduated from Castle High School in 1953. He worked at the Outrigger Hotel, Kahala Mall and Koko Marina Shopping Center. David loved fishing. He built his 7th and final boat in 1982 and named it SECNARF the name of his wife spelled backwards. In the early 70's David represented his fishing club and fished in the Hawaii International Billfish Tournaments for several years with his boat CINDY. In 2004, David won the Lahaina Jackpot Fishing Tournament. He also caught an 825 lb. marlin and won the biggest marlin of the year award while fishing on the SECNARF. David was a member of Hawaii Yacht Club and served two terms as Vice Commodore for Power. David is survived by his wife Frances H. C., sons Terrence P. and Clement D. (Melissa), daughters Lorrin E. Young-Corral, Justine C. Carrico (Howard). 7 grandchildren: Jeremy Young, Samuel, Benjamin, and Isabella Carrico, Garin and Trisha, and Mazzy Young. Brothers James and Joseph. Sisters Elaine Woo and Rose Marie Kim, nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held on Monday, May 7, 2018 at Diamond Head Cemetery at 10:30 a.m. Arrangements Provided By: Diamond Head Mortuary
