Asano Yahiku
Age 94, of Honolulu, passed away peacefully at Maluhia Hospital surrounded by family. She was born in Kapaa, Kauai. After retiring from Liberty House, she was active in the Okinawan and Japanese Cultural clubs, Choral and Craft groups at Lanakila Multi-Purpose Senior Center. As a member of the Choral group they entertained the residents at Maluhia Hospital, made musubis and crafts to sell at their Gift Shop. She was also a long time member of the Nakagusuku Sonjin Kai and Sashiki-Chinen Doshi Kai Clubs of the Hawaii United Okinawan Association. She also belonged to the Nuuanu YMCA Thursday Luncheon and Gajimaru Kai (literary) Clubs. She was predeceased by husband Motoku Yahiku and daughter Gayle Gonzales. Survived by son, Michael Yahiku; daughters, Joan Batula (Woody), Sandy Furumori, 6 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
