Maile Y.K. (Ching) Cazimero
Age 92, of Aiea, was called home to her Lord in the early morning of April 21, 2018. Maile was born on July 2, 1925 in Niuli'i, Kohala, Hawai'i to James Yun Choy Ching and Ruth Loi Chau Chu. Mom loved and missed her parents and 3 older brothers: Sky, Raymond, and Sing Kui Ching. Maile attended Makapala School and graduated from Kohala High School. She worked as a substitute teacher and Cafeteria Manager at Makapala School prior to marrying the love of her life, Louie Cazimero. When Dad found work at the Pearl Harbor Shipyard, Mom and Dad moved to O'ahu. Mom was a housewife and, while watching her own children, would provide childcare for others. She later would watch her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mom was skilled in crocheting, sewing, cooking, and baking. After Dad retired in 1975, they frequented Las Vegas 4-5 times a year with the Economics Club. Mom would bake Mango Bread to share with her extended ohana at the Las Vegas Club. Mom enjoyed playing Keno and the video poker game. She delighted in sharing her winnings by treating us to many dinners. Maile was the matriarch of our family and is now reunited with her husband of nearly 61 years, Louie Cazimero. She is survived by her children: Vanetta (Norman, dec.) Okinaka; Althea (Abraham Kahai) Cazimero-Kahai, Louella (Eddy Bactad, dec.) Cazimero- Bactad; Doris (Samuel, Jr.) Rowland; Dalton (Poxie) Cazimero, and Waldon (Jennette) Cazimero; 22 Grandchildren; 43 great-grand- children; and 16 great-great grandchildren.
