CLARENCE WAH YEE YOUNG
Chief Master Sergeant Clarence Wah Yee Young, 85, USAF Retired, Bronze Star and Meritorious Service Medal recipient, passed away peacefully in his sleep in Los Angeles on May 16 after a long illness. Born on January 31, 1933 in the Territory of Hawaii, he was the youngest and the last surviving of 8 children. Clarence enjoyed a successful 28-year career in the U.S. Air Force reaching the highest rank, and soon after became the owner of Territorial Distributors, which he later sold and retired in 1998. Clarence is survived by his wife of 61 years, Bernadette (nee Young), and their children, Clarisse (Charles Shumaker), Patrice (James Mahoney), Jeffrey, Jon (Lyzza), and Julie (Eric Kowalski). Clarence leaves 11 grandchildren and three great- grandchildren. He is also survived by brother-in-law, Allen Young. A memorial service was held on May 30 at Valley of the Temples in Kane`ohe.
