Annie En Moi Ching Kau
Annie En Moi Ching Kau97, of Honolulu, passed away peacefully at her Maunalani Heights home of 63 years on April 22, 2018. Annie was born in Hilo on November 10, 1920 to Seu Chin Lau of Kohala and Young Ching from Guangdong, China. Annie spent her childhood years in Kula, Maui, moved to Honolulu to attend McKinley High School, and married Raymond S.H. Kau of Kapahulu. Raymond predeceased her in 1982. Annie was a civilian employee of the federal government her entire working career, spending a decade each working for the Army Corps of Engineers, the US Coast Guard, and the US Army Pacific Command at Fort Shafter. She and Raymond were long time congregants and faithful members of St Mary's Episcopal Church in Moiliili. Annie is survived by her sons Randall K.C. Kau (wife Elizabeth Olmsted and sons Andrew and Timothy) of New York City, and Clayton K.S. Kau (wife, Jaimie) of Palos Verdes Estates, California, and older brother Bernard Ching of Kaneohe. Her five other siblings, Thomas, En Sui, Joseph, Lucy Diamond, and Katherine Spencer, and grandson Nicholas predeceased her. She is buried at Hawaiian Memorial Park Cemetery. A remembrance service will be held at St. Mary's on Saturday, June 16 at 11am, with a lunch reception following the service.
