TED CLARENCE COMPOC
Ted Clarence Compoc was surrounded by his wife and family when he passed away in Las Vegas on Tuesday, May 22, at the age of 75. He was a deeply loved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, coach, and prankster. He was born in Kahuku, Hawai'i, to parents who immigrated from the Visayas region of the Philippines. He was an avid Kahuku football fan and considered himself a "Red Raider for Life." Compoc earned a BS in Sociology from California State University, Sacramento, and an MS in Education from the University of Southern California. He retired from Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama as the Athletic Director, but he was best known for his many achievements coaching volleyball in California, Arizona, Utah, Alabama, and Saudi Arabia. He is survived by his wife, Julia Compoc (Las Vegas, NV); daughter, Kim Compoc, and her spouse, Joy Enomoto (Honolulu, HI); son, Jeff Compoc, and his spouse, Rita Compoc (Las Vegas, NV); and two grandchildren, Niko Compoc (Las Vegas, NV) and Sebastian Ortiz (Huntsville, AL). His many beloved brothers, sisters, and extended 'ohana span from Kaua'i to New York state. A mass will be held at St. Roch's Church in Kahuku on Father's Day, Sunday, June 17, at 3:00 PM, with a reception to follow. Flowers welcome. Inquiries: Kcompoc@gmail.com.
