94, passed away on August 14, 2018 at Kuakini Hospital in Honolulu, Hawaii. Reta was born in Irricana, Alberta in 1924 to John and Esther Kurtz. She then moved to Calgary, Alberta in her teens. She married Louis Aiello in 1948 and has one son Dale Aiello who has lived in Honolulu, Hawaii since 1975. Reta was always remembered for her warm smile and good natured spirit. She walked and swam daily at Waikiki and other beaches which greatly contributed to her longevity and good spirit. She was preceded in death by her husband Louis in 1967. Reta then moved to Kelowna B.C. in the early '70's until 1980 when she came to Hawaii to join her son. Reta is survived by her son Dale and two grandchildren. Christie who lives in Newport Beach, CA and Dean who lives in San Francisco, CA. Reta is also survived by her brother Ted (Marie) Kurtz who lives in Surrey, B.C. and her sister Jean (Lust) who lives in Burnaby B.C. Reta had many nieces and nephews as well. She was also predeceased by brother George (Lila) in 2006 in Didsbury, Alberta. Her body was donated to the UH Medical School in hopes that this donation will help others along the way.
