FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

Umeko Tokuoka
Umeko Tokuoka, 100, originally of Wailuku Maui passed away peacefully on July 23, 2018 at Pearl City Nursing Home. Umeko was born January 20, 1918 in Japan and immigrated to Maui at the age of 5 with her parents. She married "Jackson" in 1940 and started her family. She was employed by Maui Pineapple Cannery for 30 years. After retirement she enjoyed gardening and babysitting her grandchild- ren, and the companionship of her beloved dogs. She was predeceased by her husband Takeshi "Jackson" Tokuoka and her oldest daughter Sue A. Ishibashi. Umeko is survived by her son Richard (Gladys) Tokuoka; her daughters Pauline (Thomas) Abe and Charlene (Clifford) Suzuki; Son In Law Gordon Ishibashi. She is also survived by 7 grand- children, and 4 great grandchildren. Private services held. Special Thank You to the staff of the Pearl City Nursing Home for their kind and compassionate care over the last two years; and also to HOSPICE Hawaii for their comfort and assistance in Mothers last days.
