Loving wife, mother, grand- mother, and sister has rejoined the angels on August 18, 2018. Born December 21, 1945 to father, Walter K. Y. and mother Margaret Chun, along with 2 brothers and 1 sister. Sydney attended Sacred Hearts Academy graduating in 1963. She then went to college and got her bachelor's degree and eventually her Master's degree in Education from Chaminade University and was also Montessori trained. Sydney's nurturing personality made her a devoted elementary school teacher. She taught numerous students ranging from pre-kindergarten to grade 5 at many schools on Oahu including Kawaiaha'o Church School, Sacred Hearts Academy, Star Of The Sea School, Barber's Point Elementary, Iroquois Point Elementary, Aina Haina Elementary and Palolo Elementary. Sydney is survived by her loving husband Hubert M., sons, Seth K. W. (Mindy Gong), Matthew K. W. and grandson Thomas Chang. Brothers Walter (Carol), Michael (Evelyn) Chun and sister Colleen (Candy) (Aaron) Goetz and several nieces and nephews. Memorial services for Sydney will be held on Friday September 14, 2018 at St. Pius X, 2821 Lowery Avenue, Visitation 9:45 a.m. Mass 11:00 a.m. Inurnment 12:45 p.m. at Nuuanu Memorial Park.
