Walter Wataru Yamamoto, age 82, passed away on August 28, 2018 at the VA Community Living Center. Walter was born in Eleele, Kauai, on April 30, 1936. Walter served in the U.S. Army for 22 years and retired as an E-8 MSG. After his military career, Walter went to work for the State of Hawaii, DSSH/DHS Welfare Fraud Unit for 22 years and retired as a Supervisor. He is survived by his wife, Jean; sons, Tyrenn and Cyvenn; daughter Leann (Russell) Uehira; grand- daughter, Kelsey Uehira; brother, Melvin (Florence) Yamamoto; and sister, Mildred Yamauchi. Services will be held on Friday, September 21, 2018, at Hosoi Garden Mortuary, Inc. Visitation begins at 5:00pm, service at 6:00pm. Inurnment will be held on Monday, September 24, 2018, at the Kauai Veterans Cemetery in Hanapepe, Kauai at 10:00am. Arrangements Provided By: Hosoi Garden Mortuary
