Kimie “Kay” Okaneku, Grandma OOKANEKU, KIMIE “KAYâ€, GRANDMA O, 93, of Honolulu passed away on September 9, 2018 at Kuakini Hale Pulama Mau. Born in Waianae and raised on Farmer's Road in Waialae, Oahu. She worked as a seamstress in various tailor shops, such at T. Hirai Tailor and Take's at Waikiki, retiring to take care of her grandchildren. She assisted her husband, who took tours to Japan for Tohoku Travel. Grandma O was a devoted supporter and fan of her grand- children's sports teams and was known as the "Andagi Lady" at various parks. She is predeceased by her husband Kiyoshi "Kiyo" Okaneku. She is survived by her sons: Rodney (Gail), and Randall (Patricia Takaba), grand- children: Brandon (Maria), Reid, and Kimberly Okaneku, great- grandchildren: Branson and Malia Okaneku, sister: Elaine Akamatsu and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held on Sunday September 30, at 5 PM, at Nuuanu Memorial Park & Mortuary. Visitation will begin at 4:00PM. Family requests no flowers. Casual attire.
