Major Marc W. Greenwell
69, of Honolulu, passed away peacefully at St. Francis Hospice and went home to be with his Lord Jesus Christ on September 12, 2018. Marc lived his life to the fullest: Eagle Scout, Punahou graduate, life guard at Sandy Beach, collegiate competitive swimmer, college graduate (BA in criminology from CSU Long Beach), avid kayaker who paddled in the Molokai race, skilled skin diver, adventurous backpacker, and around the world traveler. He received a special assignment as police captain in Truk (1978) and retired as major from the Honolulu Police Department at the age of 50 after 27 years of service. In his retirement, he enjoyed taking care of his breadfruit, rambutan, and lychee trees on the Big Island. He lived his life with integrity and was well-respected by his colleagues, family, and friends. Marc was a loving husband, father, uncle, and friend. He is survived by his wife, daughter, son, sister, a niece and nephews, and is remembered and loved by many more. A Private Service was held on September 29, 2018. Donations can be made to the Hawaiian Humane Society or Joey's Feline Friends.
Our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the deceased
