MARGARET PANIS ABELLANIDAMarch 31, 1930 - August 1, 2018 Margaret Panis Abellanida of Ewa Beach, 88 passed unexpectedly on August 1, 2018 and is now in heaven with her beloved husband Andres "Andy" Abellanida as well as her smiling grandson, Andrew Afong. She was born on March 31, 1930 in Olowalu, Maui and is the third child of Cornelio and Theresa Panis. Marge is a graduate of Lahainaluna High School and attended Honolulu Business School. After graduation, she worked with the US Army at Fort Shafter as a clerk stenographer; where she received numerous life-time achievement awards for her hard work and dedication. She retired in 1988. She also worked for David's Fencing in Waipahu. She loved bowling at Leeward Bowl and Barbers Point where she and Andy were heavily involved with the Fil-American league. Marge enjoyed watching Korean movies and traveling with her family; especially to Las Vegas. Together Andy and Marge raised 9 children and taught them the importance of a family. Marge has been an inspiration to many of her grandchildren by greeting everyone with a loving smile and hug. She always made time to listen; offered encouragement, strength, and love; and wanted everyone to believe in themselves and God. She had a gift of making everyone feel special and letting you know she'll always be there for you. She is survived by her children, Alvin (Donna) Abellanida, Stephen (Alice) Abellanida, David (Joanne) Abellanida, Roberta (Stanford) Afong, Kathleen Abellanida, Andrew Abellanida, Laura (Steve) Miyoshi, Chris "Bud" Abellanida, Andres "Jr." (Melody) Abellanida; 30 grand- children, 49 great grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters Virginia "Virgia" Dofa and Mamerta Ramos and her brother Alfredo "Felipe" Panis. She is pre-deceased by her parents and older brother Marcelino "Barney" Panis. Visitation will be held on Thursday October 4, 2018 at Mililani Memorial Park Mauka Chapel from 8:30 10:00. Services will begin at 10:00 am with the burial to follow at Kaneohe State Veteran's Cemetery at 1:00 pm.
