Diana Chiye Miyamoto
72, was born in Lahaina, Maui, on September 20, 1945, to Yoshio and Kiyomi Ueda. She died on the night of September 10, 2018. Her family moved to Honolulu in 1958, she graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1963. Diana and her husband, Craig Miyamoto, met at Woodbury College (now University) in Los Angeles, and were married in Honolulu on March 24, 1966. She earned her Bachelor of Secretarial Administration degree from Woodbury in 1968 and worked as a buyer's secretary at The California Mart and The Broadway Department Store. Upon moving back to Honolulu in 1972, she worked for Liberty House as a buyer's secretary, then joined the family business, George's Delicatessen. She was a past-president of the Honolulu Jaycees Auxiliary (1975-76), and was an avid fan of Korean drama series on television. Diana is survived by two brothers, Howard and Ronald (Joyce, ne'e Shigemura); her husband, Craig, two sons, James of Honolulu, and Carleton (Betty, ne'e Pun) of Fremont, California; and one grandson, Joseph.
