RICARDO “CALDO” ESPERO
RICARDO "CALDO" ESPERO "OL' MAN" 81, of Makiki, Hawaii passed away peacefully of natural causes at his home on September 21, 2018. He was born on March 9, 1937, in Kohala. He was a proud, retired U.S. Marine and "Cowboy" of Kohala High School. He worked as a commercial trucker for Hawaii Transfer Co., Ltd., from 1959 until retiring in 2011 at age 74. Predeceased by father, Roman Espero; mother, Amoe Lee Luga; step-father, Francisco Luga; and brother, Dennis (Carol) Luga. He is survived by siblings, Linda (Adam) Soliven, Benjamin Respicio, Larry (Lynne) Luga, Francis (Hue) Luga, Roland (Katherine) Luga, and Debra (Timothy) Mason; 7 nieces and 8 nephews; hanai daughter, Lori (Eric) Tomita; and hanai grandchildren, Tara and Cody Tomita. Memorial Service will be on Saturday, October 20, 2018 Borthwick Mortuary, Mauka Chapel, Honolulu. Visitation: 2:30 p.m.; Service: 3:30 p.m. ~ Casual attire. No flowers. ~ Private inurnment will be held at a later date at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific at Punchbowl.
