James “Jim” Yang
JAMES JIM YANG 1934 - 2018 James "Jim" Yang, 84, of Temple City, California, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 14, 2018 after a long battle with Parkinson's Disease. Jim was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii and was a 1953 graduate of Farrington High School. He enlisted in the Army to serve in the Korean War. He then moved to California and graduated from California State University, Los Angeles where he played football and majored in Education. This is also where he met the love of his life, Ramona Ancheta who was from Kapaa, Kauai. They were married for 58 years. Jim enjoyed a 30-year career at South Pasadena HS as a teacher, football coach and athletic director. He was elected into the South Pasadena Athletics Hall of Fame. He was an avid golfer and returned often to Hawaii over the years. His biggest love in life was spending time with his six grandchildren, who all loved him just as much Jim is lovingly remembered by his wife Ramona of Temple City and his three children, Michael (Dawn) of Del Mar, Corinne Carter (Bill) of Pasadena and Randall (Anita) of Pasadena. He will be especially missed by his six grandchildren: Katie Carter Elia, Alison, Jameson, Jillian, Haley and Taylor Yang. He is also survived by his sister Loretta Kam of Aiea, Hawaii. Funeral services will be held at St. Luke's Church in Temple City, California, at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 25, 2018.
