FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

Shirley Harue Gomi
Our Beloved Mom and Grandma passed away peacefully at home on September 23, 2018. Shirley was born on April 10, 1933 to Kingo and Katsuyo Inouye of Wailuku, Maui, one of eight children. She attended Baldwin High School and graduated in 1951. Thereafter, she moved to Honolulu, where she met and married Roosevelt Hideo Gomi (deceased). They lived in Waipio Acres for many years and raised 3 children. She worked and later retired from HMSA after 35 years of service. She enjoyed her retirement years with "Hide", as they both loved to go to Las Vegas and visit their grandson in Washington. They later moved to Nuuanu to be closer to their grandson, Nicholas Gomi. After "Hide" passed, she enjoyed traveling and was very independent, catching the bus to chat and have coffee with her friends. She will be remembered as a "strong and independent Lady". Shirley is survived by her children, Debora (Brian) Carroll and her family, Jamie and Allison from Anacortes, WA.; her son, Clayton (Donna) Gomi and Nicholas, from Pauoa, HI.; and her youngest daughter, Reinette (Wayne) Arase, from Marysville, WA. She is also survived by her brothers, James (Lorraine) Inouye and Masao (Naomi) Inouye and her sisters, Jane Seki and Connie (Glenn) Suizu. Services will be held at Mililani Downtown Mortuary on October 30th, 2018. Viewing & Visitation: 10:00 a.m.; Services: 11:00 a.m. Private Burial Ceremony at Mililani Memorial Park.

Our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the deceased
