Annie Lee Burnet Vuillemot
Died peacefully at 94 years of age on September 16, 2018, surrounded by love and mourned by many. A longtime Lanikai and Pohai Nani resident, she was full of southern charm and surrounded herself with friends, both in person and through writing beautiful letters and cards to far-flung loved ones. She gathered friends through the DAR, the Colonial Dames, St. Christopher's Episcopal Church, Castle Hospital and the Outdoor Circle; in addition to volunteering in the community, she delighted in her bridge and tennis friends and her beloved "Densa" hui. "Lee" was born August 16, 1924 in Macon, GA, the youngest of five children. She spent much of her childhood in Clarksville, TN, and graduated from UT in Knoxville, where she began a 75 year association with the Chi Omega sorority. In her early 20's, Lee moved with her family to San Diego where she met and married Floyd Louis Vuillemot, a career Marine stationed at Camp Pendleton. Lee and "Bud" raised four children together and in typical military fashion, moved around; in the early '50's, to Honolulu, HI, then to Quantico, VA, then Carmel and Los Altos, CA. The family moved back to Hawaii permanently in 1971. Lt. Colonel Vuillemot (Ret.) died in 2007. Lee was also pre-deceased by daughter Lori (Steve) Dallons, of Alamo CA, and son Rob Vuillemot, of Kailua. Lee is survived by son Scott (Sheryl) Vuillemot of Honolulu, daughter Lynne (John) Bosche of Piedmont CA and granddaughters Shannon Vuillemot, Lauren and Lucy Bosche, and grandson Sean Vuillemot. A memorial service was held at Pohai Nani in late September, with a second gathering planned for January 1919. Please email zam4510@gmail.com for further details.
