DANIEL S. MATSUMOTO
79, of Kaneohe died peacefully at home surrounded by family on Sept. 29. Born in Dec. 24, 1938 in Honolulu, he served as ROTC cadet coronel and graduated from McKinley High School, 1956. He was in the Army Reserve from 1956-63 and graduated from the University of Hawaii in 1962. He was a civil engineer with the State of Hawaii Department of Transportation from 1962-65 and R.M. Towell from 1966-67. He retired after 43 years with the Federal Aviation Administration Airports Division, where one of his projects was the Reef Runway at Honolulu International Airport. He was an avid reader and golfer, who traveled widely through the US, Asia and the Pacific and, of course, Vegas. He is survived by wife, Isabelle, children Kris Wong and Kevin (Lisa), and grandchildren Jordan, Julianne, Noah, and Jaysen, sisters Mabel, Jean (Isao) Sakai, Bette (Gordon) Ing and Linda (Nathan) Takeuchi. Services will be Sunday, Nov. 11, 5pm viewing, 5:30 services, Mililani Mortuary Downtown. No flowers.
