Alma Rose Pacheco Ortiz of Honolulu passed away October 19, 2018 at Ka Punawai Ola in Kapolei. Alma was born in Hilo, Hawai`i to Antone and Mary Pacheco. She was the eldest of 6 children and is preceded in death by Eugene, Edwin, Bernice, Mabel and Herman. She attended St. Mary's in Hilo and graduated from St. Francis Convent School and St. Francis School of Nursing in Honolulu. Alma worked as a registered nurse at St. Francis Hospital in Honolulu for 44 years and volunteered at Lanakila Baptist School in Waipahu for many years. She was a member of John the Baptist Catholic Church in Kalihi and recently, St. Jude Catholic Church Makakilo. She is survived by daughters Paula De Morales (Russian) of Hilo, and Geraldine Tong (Robert) of Makakilo, sister Mabel Pacheco of Hilo, 5 grandchildren: Kim Rodriguez and Joanna Silva, Robert Tong Jr., Lauren Hastings, and Dustin Tong and 4 great- grandchildren: Kira De Morales, Kieran Rosas, and Charlie and Sal Silva. Visitation will be held at St. Jude Catholic Church-Makakilo, on November 19, 2018 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. with services at 10:30 a.m., Burial to follow at 2:00 p.m. Casual Attire.
