Charles (Charlie) Thomas Clarke died in his sleep at home in Waikiki on September 19, 2018. He was born on January 11, 1956 in Honolulu. Charles was a graduate of Kalani High School, class of 1975 and the University of Hawaii's Kapiolani Community College Culinary Arts Program in 1978. He was a cook for the Sheraton Waikiki for 35 years. Well known in the surfing community, Charlie is predeceased by parents John Kirkwood Clarke Jr. and Margaret Garvin Clarke of Honolulu. Charlie is survived by sister and brother-in-law Cathie and Bill Jardine of Kamuela, Hawaii and brothers Gar Clarke of Santa Fe, New Mexico and Jay Clarke of Lihue, Kauai. He is also survived by 9 nieces and nephews, as well as many dear friends. He was a sterling son, brother and friend while on earth.
