FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

Shizuo “Nak” Nakamura
Shizuo Age 89 of Waipahu, born on September 24, 1929 in Seattle, WA; passed away on November 14, 2018 at Queen's Medical Center - West. At a young age, he was sent to Hiroshima, Japan for a formal Japanese education. At the age of 15, he witnessed the devastating effects of the Hiroshima Atomic bomb. He enlisted in the U. S. Army and served in the Korean War. He met his wife, Kazuko, at Camp Zama, Japan. He finished his education after leaving the Army and earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Sophia University (Japan). Soon after, he worked for the U. S. Air Force (PACAF), as a budget analyst (civil service); he retired in 1988. Nak was predeceased by his beloved daughter, Julie and a week after he passed away, his son, Timothy followed him in death. Nak is survived by his wife, Kazuko; son, Steven; grandchildren, Chanyle and Chaz (their mother, Jhere); great-grandchildren, Rooke, Saydi and Kara (their father, Jonathan); sister, Fumi (California). Special thanks to various medical specialists and home rehab staff, Dr. Bryan Matsumoto (P.C. Medical) and staff, staff of Pali Momi Hospital, staff of Queen's West Hospital, staff of Ka Punawai Ola Rehab., staff of Emma Rose care home, Chong, Nagatoshi and Baptista families. Memorial service to be held on Thursday, December 06, 2018 at Waipahu Hongwanji; visitation at 4pm and service 5pm. Arrangements Provided By: Hawaiian Memorial Park Mortuary
