Eaton Harry Huha “Bob” Magoon, Jr.
Eaton Harry Huha 1922 - 2018 Eaton Harry Huha "Bob" Magoon, Jr. kama'aina businessman, real estate developer, songwriter and Broadway producer, lyricist, musical play-writer passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on September 16, 2018 at his Middletown, California home, near his family's former 23,000 acre Guenoc Ranch and winery. He was 96 years old. Born in Honolulu on 24 June 1922, the son of Genevieve and Eaton Harry Magoon, Sr., Bob graduated from Punahou in 1940. He continued his education at Yale University, New York University, Hastings College of the Law and the University of California at Berkeley. During World War II he served as a bombsite mechanic with the U.S. Army Air Corps in North Africa and Italy, volunteering to join while still studying at Yale University. By profession he was a businessman. Magoon served as Treasurer and Managing Director of Magoon Brothers Limited and Magoon Estate Limited, and sat on the board of Central Pacific Bank for many years. His true love was music. He was the President of the Hawaiian Recording and Publishing Company. His younger brother, Orville, predeceased Bob in 2016. Bob is survived by his long-time companions Steven Judd, Kerry Zadel, James Wightman and Jack Law. Interment: 3:00 to 3:30 p.m. (sharp), Friday, December 7, 2018 at Punchbowl Cemetery, Committal Court. Seating is Limited. Celebration of Life Well-Lived: 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Hula's Bar & Lei Stand, Waikiki Grand Hotel, 2nd Floor, 134 Kapahulu Ave. (Enter through Lobby). Host Beverages and Pupu.
