65, of Pearl City. passed away October 12, 2018 at Kaiser Foundation Hospital. He was born May 24, 1953 to Ralph and Marilyn Kuroda. He was preceded in death by his father Ralph Kuroda and sister Lynn Tanoue. James graduated from Saint Louis School, Class of 1971 and the University of Hawaii at Manoa with a degree in Fine Arts. James retired from the State of Hawaii-State Foundation on Culture and the Arts, where he served as Senior Exhibition Specialist. James has been a part of the local art community for over 30 years, winning prizes and his paintings included in permanent collections. His most recent show: Honolulu Museum of Art at First Hawaiian Center "The Foolish of Things". He is survived by his mother Marilyn Kuroda, Fiancee Linda Mason, brother-in-law Melvin Tanoue and nephews, Ryan Tanoue and Reid Tanoue. Memorial services will be held Saturday, December 8th at 12:00 noon Hosoi Garden Mortuary. Visitation beginning at 11:00 am. No floral arrangements. Casual attire requested.
